Luke & Nicole’s Intimate Elopement at Redcliffe

Some stories come full circle in the most beautiful way, and Luke & Nicole’s elopement was one of those moments for me.

I first met Luke on the mountainside when I was just starting out in photography. He was well known in the motorbike community, capturing incredible shots of riders carving through the winding roads. I had heard of him and his respected work long before I introduced myself, and one day, I finally took myself up there to pick his brain about automotive photography. Long story short—we’ve been friends ever since. He became a true mentor and support in my photography journey, and when he asked if I would photograph his elopement, I was deeply honoured.

A Love Story Born from Fate

Luke and Nicole’s story is a special one—both motorbike riders, they met after Luke had a motorbike accident. Lucky for him, he met his own personal nurse! Their connection grew, and their love story unfolded in the most natural and beautiful way.

When it came time for them to tie the knot, they chose an intimate elopement at Redcliffe. It was a simple and meaningful day, shared only with myself, the celebrant, and Nicole’s brother. It was an extra special honour for me—not only was I their photographer, but I was also one of their two official witnesses.

A Day of Love, Laughter & Adventure

The ceremony was short, heartfelt, and filled with love. After signing the marriage certificates, we did what felt the most natural—we grabbed a cold drink on the main strip and soaked in the moment.

We took a stroll along the Redcliffe Pier on Oxley Ave at Woody Point, capturing some stunning moments along the way. The sun was beginning to lower, and the light was turning that perfect golden hue.

As we made our way to a quiet park, Nicole held the most beautiful big bouquet, adding the perfect touch to their romantic portraits.

But we weren’t done just yet. With the last bit of daylight slipping away, we made one final stop at Shorncliffe Pier. As the golden light faded, we entered what us photographers call blue hour—that magical window of time when the sky holds onto a soft blue glow just after sunset. It’s fleeting but breathtaking.

We walked onto the sand beside the pier, and as blue hour said its final goodbye, the moon rose in the sky. Under its soft glow, we captured one last series of intimate, dreamlike images—Luke and Nicole dancing in the moonlight, fully embracing the magic of the moment.

A Night to Remember

This elopement was so much more than just a wedding shoot for me. It was a full-circle moment—photographing a friend who had been there for me in my own journey, capturing his most important day. The love and trust Luke and Nicole put in me meant the world, and I will always remember this beautiful, intimate day.

After our adventure, they headed off for a romantic dinner, the perfect ending to their heartfelt and personal elopement.

Luke & Nicole, thank you for letting me be a part of something so special. Wishing you both a lifetime of love, adventure, and endless open roads ahead.
